about hte oil. your better off using fourstroke motorbike oil because its reccomended for the gears too the car motor oil is not.

rosseti, yeh i didnt try the mtho, i just took out tank completely emptied it, rann clean fuel threw the tanks to clean out, then filled it up n put bak on bike. Since i did 2 engine flushes n put clean unleaded fuel in, the bike blew alot less smoke on idle with choke off, but blows a shit load of white smike wen revved. Yeh i tried turning idle screw up and down but not much changed. I noticed when its idling it will make a poping sound every few seconds as if it might be missing a beat or two, im not sure might just be lots of back-firing?. I have no idea what spark plug im spose 2 use, but thats what bowell scooter told me to use??? they also told me use 15w50 if rings are gone, but i put in 20w50 could they be other probs why it blows smoke? n they sed car oil is fine. When i put my hand infront exhuast like all these small dots of sludge or oil splatter on my hand.

if i posted a video of what is sounds like and looks like, do
you reckon u might be able to help me better? just list some things
you want me to do to the bike in the video wich may help solve my prob.

cheers!

If liquid oil is spraying out the exhaust... Definate oil leak from valve guides or rings. Check the plug for oily deposit, that will confirm.

ahk. id still go with the c7hsa. id say it may be running to rich when its popping. was it the idle screw or the fuel/airscrew you turened up?. um the different weight oil wont change the smoke. 20w50 is actually heavier that 15w50 but once its warmed up its all the same really. i still wouldnt like to use car engine oil in em though. could even be a blown head gasket. um does it have compression when you kick it? wheres the vid do you have a link to it or anything?

how do you fix an oil leak from valve guides?
what will oil deposites on spark plug confirm?
how can i stop it from runnig so rich? ahh im not sure ay, its a mikuni carby,
i tightened the screw that faces towards the kick start, so yeh..? will it make much difference with the smoke if i changed the wrong one?
yeh i tried to take the head off the other day to see if it was just the gasket, but couldnt coz i didnt know how to take out the timing chain to get the head off? is there a manual to show how to do it?
how can i tell if gasket? um im pretty sure it has compression, coz it starts 1st kick easy n rides. I havent got the video yet, ill try n do it 2morow/durin the week. so yeh check bak for the link ok, cheers!

oil deposites on ya plug confirm either bolwn rings, valve guides, gaskets, are stuffed. did the screw you turned have a spring on it?? not all do but some do. and yes i think its the right one youve turned. wont make any difference in the smoke. there is a thread in the tech talk forum at the top of the page. usually you wont need to take the head off to check. have a look where the head joins to the cylinder/barrel and see if you can see any oil marks.

umm.. the spark plug is black, and the area around the spark plug is covered in oil. but i dunno if theres a blow gasket, although uner the head at the bottom theres like oil there, n i found when the bike was on there was a little bit of smoke commin from the head around the exhuast area. When i get a video ill show you. yeh i turned the one with a spring. wheres the thread u sed, i can find it?

thanks for that mate,
wat ill do is take apart 2 day, see if stuffer if it is, ill post a video.

cheers!

hey guys, i didnt get round 2 a video. but here are some photos of the inside of the engine.
the rings n bore seem to be fine to me, what else could be wrong?
when i took it apart i found the cam cover gasket n the gasket that attached cylinder to motor were ripped, could of been when i took it off.

valves, bore, and from what i can see the rings and piston are ok. i dunn i guess you could try just replaceing the gaskets and then puttin it back together and trun it again

yeh but it was a tiny tear in the cam gasket, how would that cause ALOT of smoke?
the guy who posted the "how to tear down a head n cylinder" sed it looks like the rings, if could have a look at that post agen for me n check to photos i posted there, n tell me what you think from those pics?

cheers!

replace the rings and gaskets then report back if its still buggered,.
