Avatars??

Ok so I tried the search function. Now im gonna ask the dumb question.
How do I put up an avatar with my posts? I know where to do it but I dont know how to find one or how to take an existing photo etc and make it work. Too big or somethin. I am not that comp literate....:confused-smiley-014

I can't get a new one. Every one I try says that the file is invailed? I'm sick of it. I tried saveing the picture into my file but it still won't work and buggered if I know how to change the file thingo.. I want this:

Ahhh see this is the problem I was having!
But I didnt fix it I just happened to come accross 1 that seems to be the correct size.

Yeah that one could only be used in a signature coz of its width

Search miniriders logo in google images and you'll find it.

if you are running xp or vista search microsoft for image resizer sorry i dont have the link on this puter
if you are running windows 7 go here Windows Live Essentials
for windows live it has a program to resize images im only just doing this now
there are probably better programs but these are easy to use and free
if you have a different os sorry otherwise hope this helps

the way i do it is simple.
save pic to your computer.
Find pic.right click on it.open with paint.
up the top you will see resize/skew.change the percentage until you get it to the reqired size
