I currently have a NEW set of Fastace AS-01's fitted (that DHZ_XR8cing kindly picked up for me from the PSTO clearance sale), They have the black titanium nitride coated lower tubes too, Damn nice
I had a Fastace 290mm shock fitted but I am going to lower the bike for my kids so I have fitted a GPX 280mm shock (shown in the pic above) & I will be buying some shorter 660mm GPX forks soon to put on the Atomik then the Fastace forks that are on the Atomik now (& the fastace 290mm shock) will go on the next build, A CRF70/DHZ Outlaw style bike

I am also going to fit a 10" rear wheel & a 12" front wheel on the Atomik to lower it even more, I have just ordered a set of 10" & 12" Pirelli Scorpion tyres to suit

yeh cheers mate, from what ive read i may be able to fit my swing arm on the the new frame but unsure and my for n triple clamp set up should fit with the change of the stem bolt according to the reply i got from dhz on ebay, im wondering if you guys know what coil n cdi to buy to give it bit more response? oh and is there any easy way todo sticker kits ?

I would say that them forks (off the pitster pro) should bolt straight on the CRF50 frame but not 100% sure?
So you actually have the new CRF50 frame from DHZ there & have you tried to fit the front end on?

Dont get too ahead of yourself, I would just get the motor in & get it going then worry about ignition & upgrades later on after you have ridden it maybe

Read through this thread for details on how to do graphics/sticker kits>

cheers guys im heaps happy ive got a start, ive got the plastics and high seat just waitin on engine, tank, n few other bits i just need brakes ha all ive kept is my back disk all the rest was **d

hey guys just wondering if i should contact the seller of the frame the top race bit where the top bearing sits has some grinding/burn marks and its rather rough so the top bearing has a bit or wriggle im worried that riggle may cause the frame to snap coz the bike will be put through its paces?

Not sure what you mean? Wriggle/riggle? Not really common terms to explain things with bearings, & burn marks, What the heck?

The race is loose in the top of the frame neck?

The bearing cant be loose in the race if it is tightened down properly

A loose bearing or even a loose race should not cause the frame to break but it does sound like it needs fixing though

Can you post a pic or 3 so we can get a bit more of an idea what you mean? :confused-smiley-013

<a href="http://s201.photobucket.com/albums/aa319/mulishaseth/?action=view&amp;current=IMAG0422.jpg" target="_blank"><img src="http://i201.photobucket.com/albums/aa319/mulishaseth/IMAG0422.jpg" border="0" alt="Photobucket"></a> was kinda hard to get a clear pic of it with my phone but yeh them burn looking marks are pretty rough my rather reckons it will wreck bearing fast

Were the races already fitted in the frame? Im guessing they were not
Also do you have the races in the correct spot?
The lowering bearing is 23.5 & the top bearing is 22mm, If you have the bottom race in the top of the frame there will be play/movement (riggle)

A new set of bearings with the races dont cost much>

22mm 23.5mm bearings | eBay

You generally cant buy them at a normal bearing shop though

I dont understand how it can have play (wriggle/riggle) in the top bearing if it is assembled & tightened down properly though even if there is marks on the race?

What order did you assemble & tighten the triple clamps?

no the races where already in the frame and i didnt touch them with any kind of grinder like the marks on it, and im unsure mate i just pulled apart for the pic im not real familiar with how to tighten bearing n so on, dads a fitter n turner n reckons them marks n how rough it is aint no good at all but hes not here to help as i dont see him much

Email the pic/s to DHZ & let them know (maybe get some better pics in the daytime with more light too)
Im sure Ken will sort out a new set of bearings for you

That still does not explain why there was play in the top bearing though? A new set fitted correctly should sort it out

cheers dude i dunno if ill even bother to start with the frame i braught was black in every picture so i wasnt to happy with a grey frame because it dont state that its not black or anything and they didnt have much to say so i dont think ill even bother might just hassle dad n get him to put a new race in n all that area haha as i said im no bike builder just something different

Would not take much to put a bit of satin black on the frame, Scotchbrite from a paint or hardware store works great to rough up the surface before you paint, You could have it painted black in no time, Should not take much more than 1 hour, Preparation should take longer than the actual painting takes

My frame was crappy grey too>

yeh looks trick mate, i was going to paint it but i thought it'd chip n rub of to easy

Any coating including powder coating will chip off if hit or scraped hard enough, The best thing about painting is you can simply give it a light rub & touch it up if need be, Another layer over the grey will protect it more from rust & as for rubbing off?
If the paint is applied properly there is no way it would rub off
Trick is to build up light mist coats first to get it to bond with the surface (frame) & not put on each layer on too thick like some people try to do & it runs & basically looks crap

What did you sort out with your triple clamp bearings?

yeh i do graffiti murals for a living for the local council mate i know about paint id never use crappy every day paint either ive got plenty of molotow n brands alike but yeh all spray paint chips to easy for a bike i think and with the race thats effd up n to rough dads gonna machine a new race up n put in for me coz hes pretty set that its no good
