Hey Guys erm i just been given a honda cr125 1993 model bike Its in pretty good condition bar one major problem..

The top end of the engine has had some thrashing and the piston has desided to come loose enough to scratch about 1 to 2 mill on the intake inside of the bore.... what has caused this is the con Rod in the Crank has lots of movement from left to right and its caused the piston to be miss placed inside the cylinder head.

So iv taken the Piston, The Cylinder Head, and The Cover OFF for the Top because thats got melted Metal Shavings on it too.... Im Wating for the Guy to Call Me Up About How much Its Gonna Cost for it to be Re Sleeved as i took it into a machining Shop......eeekk:angry-smiley-010:...

And Now Ill Have To Get The Crank And Conrod Fixed also.....

Wish Me Luck And ill Post Some Pics Soon :beerchug:

ok the bore will probly be chrome plated/ nikelseal , so any mx dealer should be sending it away to be recoated.. approx 250 $$ plus a piston kit.

if its re boreable then new piston kit and a re bore... re boring up here is about $66

the crank will need a rod kit.. about 185 fitted.

then you will want to replace the main bearings and main seals.. about 150-200 genuine.. under a hung from bearing shop..

the bits you describe in the head will be bits of the main bearings or the big end bearing.. pretty common for a 2 stroke, specially a mechanically neglected one..

drain the gearbox oil i bet its jet black!!!

if you take it too a shop then youll be looking at around 1200-1500 mark (at a guess) and this is without work to the power valve system if it needs it

Main bearings should be under a $100 from a bearing shop, i got some for RMZ450 for a mate(back when i was in the bearing game) and it only cost him $20 each, suzuki wanted $150.

$181 retail for a complete Wiseco bottom end kit. New crank, bearings, seals and gaskets. 90-02 all the same. Might eBay a setup cheaper. Jug too.

Thanks Guys for the Comments really Helped Me Out .....
I have Taken the top end to a recondition specialists they are boring it out, The final price will be $120. I shopped around and my mate is really good friends with this mechanic so he is doing me a big favour. Ill be taking out the Crank soonand replacing the seals berings etc. im doing this all myself i used to work in a bike shop so i have some Good Knowledge about taking everything Apart. Thanks Again for the quick replys.........
