What are the best ways to sap out more power? the only requirement is to keep the stock exhaust (must be quiet)

And ideally..
1) cheap
2) keep as much fuel economy as possible
3) still looks as stock as possible

I've not done anything except tune it and try to iron out high speed surging with a #75 main jet, helped but didn't cure it. I think the carby is pretty crappy and not helping
Would a better carby give it more punch? anything else I can do? I don't mind swapping engine internals either but have no access to specialised tools or machining

Port the head, bigger valves , larger lobs on the cam.. bigger piston and bigger bore exhaust

what you wont doesnt work with the 2 of the 3 requirements , you dreaming if you want more power and still run on a oilly rag, cheap whats your definition of cheap ? Mine is $400-$500 .. ok is like $1000 expensive is $2500+ area for motor mods

Don't have access to machining so port/polish is out. New head or cylinder? yes cause I can swap it over

I've heard of people swapping the carbs but no idea what to expect out of it as to whether it'd allow significantly more/better airflow while maintaining a stock exhaust

Well this isn't going anywhere fast
I was hoping for some people who actually know the CT110 engines and what can be done with them

Power is not free but it can come cheaply in some instances. Maybe not the CT110 but I know of quite a few bikes that share bottom ends just different top ends, so a cylinder + piston swap can take a 250 to 350cc. Are there any chinese engines that are copies of the CT110 and would let me bolt a 125/140/150/160 cylinder + piston straight on?

There ARE ways to make power I just need some knowledgeable advice related to this bike :action-smiley-033:

I know CT70s well and I know a bunch of guys with CT110s and none of them want to touch the motors postie bike guys are purest generally .. Some guys just mod the mounts and swap a china 125 in

defiantly a turbo haha.. nah but basicly the biggest you can go on a CT110 piston with standard barrel is 56mm , you could go 57.50mm if you bored out the case's & made a custom sleeve..

but no bigger barrels will bolt on for a easy fix.. the best cheap mod would prob be a 24mm OKO carby

i have a ct110... dw about bigbore... it will cost you fuel... you are probably best off with a different cam grind (im pretty sure the akunar a2 would fit well) and also youe going to have to upgrade the exhaust to get a decent upgrade in power... but you can do it with out...

a akunar a 3 cam and a oko flatside carb would make the bike scream at high rpm or the a2 and a maybe the same size carby or a bit larger for good punch... also i believe the air filters are restrictive also..

honestly just do an engine swap after your engine hits about 40,000 (apparently thats when things start to go bad) go to a yx bottom end with bigbore kit and race head.... or do what im gonna do and thats a lifan 150 with big bore + race head + superstreet take 5speed

I have a dr atv engine adapter kit for sale if you are interested?

One polished turd.

CT110 needs moar powah!

You can get a little more power out of the stock engine, with a couple cheap mods, 1 tooth higher on front sprocket(bit better top speed)removal carry rack and stock filter,(carry rack is a airflow restrictor) throw a uni filter on with larger main jet (think stock is 72, and I put a 80 in, didn't even have to tune it, runs sweet, some might need a little tweak.
And last would be exhaust, I used my old Lxr pipe cut and shut it to fit,

All up in parts it cost me around $60, as I already had the pipe.

Good power from such cheap mods :)

I have a 16T front sprocket, big bore exhaust, uni filter and a #75 main jet. Not sure how it get it running perfect but seems to run rich. Should I go up to a #80 main?

if it's too rich, a #80 will make it worse.

does it blip rev quick/clean ?

mmm polished turds

old thread
i just got to show ya some polished turds

my 127cc[52.2x55.5]

a 129cc[52.2x56]

the bits to make 137cc[58x55]

the good bits for last 170cc hopefully[58x61]

would that make me a master turd polisher:banana:

nice work !
you better post a video here of the Pro Stock Postie once it's all running

+ reps

craig

video

Here is a little vid with a couple of 127cc postie motors.
From 0.30 to 0.37. green saddlebags and red black tank postie.
i reckon they go alright
170cc should go a little better
