South Coast MX club SA, are closing down their Quarry Road MX track.
this was posted on Facebook tonight at 5.30pm-
Dear SCMX Members,
It has been brought to our attention that the land on Quarry Road has been recently sold.
Our committee has been advised by the new pending owners of the revised lease agreement for the Quarry Rd track starting 1 Jan 2015 (after settlement).
After reviewing this lease, SCMX has become aware that as a club we are not in a financial position to be able to continue to lease the land given the new lease asking price.
We are however, in contact with supporting government departments in seeking assistance to enable the club to keep this historic track.
The young riders of the fleurieu and other Quarry road fans will I'm sure miss this great little MX icon of the south.
Any further details that the club receives in regards to this will be advised as we receive it.
