Nice. I scored another zed a week ago, this ones an 87 z50r. How much are you going to modify it?

Nice score champ. Im going to make it look like a HRC bike, so it will have gold and blue colors going to put some pro taper bars adjustable shocks on the rear. I picked up a lifan 150cc engine had to fix the wiring today it was all hooked up wrong so i wasn't getting spark.

Gunna want a longer swingarm with a 150 in it. Sounds like it will be a killer lil 50. On another i am building i am using an XR80 swingarm which works out to be around +10cm, works out nice with 330mn shocks and levels it out with the fastace copy pitbike forks I have on the front.

That looks good with the XR80 swingarm. I would do the XR80 swingarm but i want it to still have the same dimensions and look I'd like to say i won't ride it hard but that's going to be half the fun. Did you have to do any modification to the forks to get the Z50 wheel to work?

Not too much work. I used a brake plate off an mr50 as they have the same size brakes as a z50r/crf50 but they have a mount point for the brake cable, you have to drill out the axle hole from 10 to 12mm. The forks had 15mm axle holes so i sleeved them down to 12mm. I had to cut/grind a fair bit off material off the side of the brake plate so i could fit it in and keep the wheel centred. Then i made a rectangular slot in the brake plate and a bracket with a rectangular lug on it that bolts to the disk mount holes. It sounds like a lot of work but i like to tinker and it was just an hour here, half an hour there whenever I had spare time. It all works sweet now however i still want to make a new bracket. There are plenty of options for forks similar with wider spacing on sites like webike, etc. and fairly cheaply too but i had the parts already and it only costed me time. Won't be crazy like yours, just a crf70 motor with an 88 kit with e22 head and a fat set of snowhog tyres. If your after parts classichonda50s (site sponser) have most if not all of everything you will want.

wow that looks amazing killer job :)

Nah its just bits and pieces i had lying around really, too many projects means no money to build a real killer bike. $75 frame and wheels, $40 webike tank, $20 webike seat, rear guard is a gt80 one i had radiused to suit, $20 swap meet swingarm, forks i had, motor was a crf70 bottom end i won on ebay for $20 and the rest is junk i had lying around. If i had cash to spend it would be 10 times better and built already.

That's how some of the best project get done though abit from here and a piece from there.

That second one is in unbelievable condition, looks like one that youve already owned ha ha. There was a brand new one that had never even had fuel in it for something like 10 grand not too long ago.
