. There's a guy on TT (shawn mc) who says he can produce a fuel injection setup for pit bikes for $600 US . Tuned Port Fuel injection would really increase the power and throttle response by stacks because it doesn't rely on intake velocity to work like carbs do !

yes i 've seen it too ...but I guess he was speaking about a mechanic setup....so no bis advance to an downdraftcarb...!

@ kwikaz; You miserable little SH*t....shut up and learn abit from the vast amount of answers....put your dawn Mikuni on and go for a ride and don't bother the People here in three Posts...Jesus!!

just go to a 30mm man i hav got 1 on a 125 and it loves it. it made the pick up so much better and revs hell hard to........cheers

2 stroke carb !

this forum has caused me more confusion than anything, according to you cactus you say a vm 26" mikuni carb is the best for thw 140cc lifan! but now i learn that it is a two stroke carb wich is a bitch to tune thats just freaking fantastic i wish people would just help people instead of getting satisfaction of just effing people around!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Incidentally - here is some info on a highly modified 1973 XR75 done to 116 cc - and guess what carb it's got on it - a VM24 Mikuni ! And with that small 24 mm "2 stroke" carb it's an arm ripper bike ! :D

We have advised you well grasshoppa - just be patient and get the thing tuned right and you'll be grinning from ear to ear like a madman ! It's just a pity that they don't talk about jetting - BUT - Powroll used Mikunis all the time on their maniac engines . So you could probably even email them for jetting specs :p

gras hopper lol

lmao grasshoper , hey them articles are fairly old where did you dig them up from?? so i dont think im ever going to get this carby running right, so what is the intake is it where the filter goes or where it mounts to the manifold i am trying to establish what this guy from oo racing has said about mixture screw,s being at the back means you have a two stroke carb?? http://i65.photobucket.com/albums/h213/pocketlife/carbiediagram2stroke.jpg

A tad pessamistic... don't worry any longer about the clown from zero brains racing. He is just another home business guy trying to sell you his little velocity tubes cause hes gotta make the little mini lathe he bought last year pay for itself. I have been over his site and was not that impressed personally.
If you can't get him out of your head, then just buy his tube and be done with it. Then buy a full jetting kit and jet holder for your carb and you'll be all set the day you want to start tuning.

Look in the auto world you will always have differing opinions. Just look at the difference in the powroll engine above to the yosh motor. Obviously they both believed there way was best and I'm sure would've argued the point if given the chance!

good point

point taken, but was is a full jetting kit and jet holder ive never heard of that?? thanks for your patience mack ;)

sweet

sweet mack, come to think of it you could be taking the piss out of me with that picture as if too say i cant read just throw pictures at me its easier to understand lmao?? but who cares thanks m8 i appriciate it, so i would get this at any moto shop?? yes?

Good link Mack !!!!

no don't think so. Team Show and Go Australia your sudco dealer here in Aus. One stop carb shop.[/QUOTE

Good link Mack !!!! I noticed that the FCR carbs have a progressive throttle linkage and that's the same as having a cammed throttle to control the opening rate of the slide !

Yes Kwikaz - you've got it right , the air cleaner side is the intake side ! The links were to show you that Mikunis can be tuned to be super responsive and make big power ! It doesn't matter how old the links are - the people who built those engines are the worlds foremost 4 stroke modification experts . It shows that a VM 24 mm Mikuni carbed 11.5 hp bike can actually out perform a 28 mm Keihin carbed 14 hp (15.5 hp peak) bike of the exact same cc capacity . It also shows that things don't work the way most people think they do . You should have NO worries about your VM26 now . :)

cactai

hey mr cactai how are you m8?? hey i recieved my vm mikuni today, so thought id let you know since your my helper on this i will post some pics of it soon ok, just one thing i think the adapter mounting rubber hole is bigger than 26mm and its sort of rough bummer, show you pics soon, ok cya m8y :D

OK - Let us know how it runs with the new carb and we'll guide you in the right direction to get it dialed in ! :)

You can grind rubber adaptors with sanding rolls and stones to remove steps and match and blend them in to the manifold and carb !

cop this

i orderd my takegawa 26mm carbie manifold from monkey shop ruabling in germany and the guy says its going to take a month to get to me via dhz economy!! my response was wtf dude??? a month thats a joke.. so i cant tell you how the carb is till i get my manifold in another 3 effing weeks   spewing hard core..

my new clutch/gears took 5 weeks from Vietnam.... just got them last week

What's the quality of the parts like ? A friend of mine in the US bought a manual clutch kit for an 88 kit modded CRF50 from a US seller and it was complete junk !

JDMSCOOTERS (Vietnam) usually sells really good quality parts . :)

Yeah , I know what it's like - I buy from all over the world all the time ! Does the VM26 fit the OKO adaptor rubbers ?
