I check the forums from time to time and thought I'd write a quick reply.

We design the braaap bikes here in Australia, they are engineered by a french team, the french guys run our factory, they are built in china, but to our specs, we do 3rd party metal testing to prove the materials we use and make sure they are consistently quality.

I agree we need to get this stuff on video, we are launching braaap TV a youtube pitbike video channel in 2010, should be pretty cool, but more on that later, Ill see what i can do next time im at the factory ill get a cheap gear box and ours and video the smash test we did.

LOL love reading the jokes etc, Just a side not though when you buy a braaap you choose any colour plasics and sticker kit free.

Ill let our riders do the talking about the bike obvious I have a biast opinion..LOL

In the mean time just remember internet is faceless, I'd love to answer any questions face to facem at the track, anywhere.

I read some of these posts and it bust's my guts to hear un factual bull****. this is our heart and sole, we eat live and breathe mini motocross, My whole family does, my whole team of 40 staff does.

I have no doubt in the quality of our product, but bikes aside, I will do and my team will do what ever it takes to create happy customer's.

Rach and the other braaap crew thanks for sticking to your guns and braaapn it up.

we are not much of an online business at the moment, many of our customers are off line. So its sick to hear from some online braaap riders.

I suck at keeping an eye on these forums and sometimes feel its a loosing battle with people who post un factual info but ill do my best to keep on here.

I think miniriders is exactly what we need for our industry.

hmmm maybe you could tell us wat is unfactual that has been said here...

and im sorry but i find it very hard to believe what your saying about these gearboxs.. it would mean you have to get Lifan or whoever to redesign the engines, and that aint going to happen...

see this is the sht we see everyday then we get retailers brainwashing people saying crap that is totally unbelievable.

i think the bikes look the goods , i have never seen 1 in the flesh , as i stated i thought they may be a bit more expensive as you have stock sitting round , hence my post

anyways i look forward to your new youtube channel , braaaaap oops excuse me lol

don't get me wrong I think braaap bike are solid units, just don't agree with the PR style

Kid, lol ... 43 yo kid ...

A 43 yo kid who knows a thing about bikes with nearly 40 years experience, and also has an engineering background, and worked in the alloy manufacturing business.
I mearly rounded the top of the line braaap models price to $4000 for convenience.

I didn't post to bag out Braaap, I simply posted to get peoples opinions as I am considering opening a 'Pitster Pro' franchise in Launceston.

I know a lot about the alloy manufacturing process having worked at 'Southern Aluminium's' wheel plant and been involved in the testing, casting and machining processes. There are countless variables that go into making a good strong alloy. From the mixing of different components ( alloy isnt pure ) to the casting / extrusion processes and heat treatment. One test we used to run was dropping 1 ton of weight from 1.5 meters onto a wheel mounted at 45 deg angle. To pass the tyre on the wheel needed to stay inflated. Its true, a good allow will bend and not break. It shouldnt be brittle.

Anyway, the proof is in the pudding. If Braaap claim to use a better brand of alloy I would sugest they have it independantly tested and compared to other similar products and provide the technical data for all to see.

I sugest for credability sake you compare apples with apples, not an apple with an egg, lol ... a Pitster Pro gearbox with a Braaap gearbox.

sorry to say brad but the quality of your so called pre delivery coming out of frankston and the amount of people complaining about there new bikes doesn't look good man.

all be it the bike with the twin spar frame is twitchy as in the front end and out of the box the forks dont react the way they should because of spacing issues. minor i agree but part of the P.D and it's not getting done. I've seen it!!!!!!

brad if you remember back last year or the year before the freerider bike test mind you they are a little bias but they flamed the crap out of your bike and likely with good reason i cant remember the wording now i should fish it out. but if i remember correctly some court proceedings followed and freerider were forced to revoke what was published. show a real lot of confidence in your bike hey.

dont get me wrong braap do a fair bit for our industry and brad is a nice bloke but when you can go and get a ciniworx crf style pro140 for $2400 which in my opinion is a better bike in handleing but as good if not better in parts. you must have the gift of the gab to be able to sell your bikes for $3800.

anyway for what it's worth whern't you selling pitpro's or old dhz's as your bottom line brand and re badgeing them.

p.s i'm gunna head down to wanthaggi and get the size of the area we have to work with and i'll get in contact with you and greggo and we can design up a track and pit area and water and all that.

One question I have for Brad is ... Are the Braaap frames xrayed in the manufacturing process ?
One problem with alloy is the possibility of porosity lurking under the surface. Your processes can be the best in the world but you can never discount the possibility of porosity.

Porosity being air bubbles in the alloy causing weakness. A perfectly good looking frame could quite easily snap if it contained undetected porosity.

i have riden this bike a few times and it's sweet as to ride it's got 17/14" wheel on it atm bloody cheater but still halls ass

well there could be, but so far I haven't seen any in aus. would be good to see more sellers putting linkage in the bikes, whether the bikes a ****ter or not

TDR doesn't do that, they have a $400 paperweight with a linkage setup....

even tho the cini isn't in the shops yet, no other shop I've seen has claimed to be bringing in a decent Linkage bike to compete with the LXR..... apart from the Sydney Motorsports guy and we all know he's not actually gonna do it (well not as trick as he thinks anyway)
 
i recon all the TTR and crf70 linkage style setups are on boats as we speak..

one sad thing tho is tht i dont think DHZ will stock any as pitster may blow the wind up his ass as well as cutting his own throat..
