That is a nice bike thinking of getting that engine for my Lxr

you could start modifying/selling them Nick, looks good

+ reps

That was a good idea. Looked at my rubber boots i got at home, but the problem is the outside diameter is the same size of the inside diameter of the carb so wasn't possible..

currently looking for a 40mm intake boot and lathe the carb 2mm in the thickest part. You guys wanna se my lxrs with 190fdx? :D

Well done Nick, that should do fine I reckon, looks factory too, i like that

Thanks guys it turned out really nice even though it did take quite a while to get it all 100% plus a heap of Chinese rubber dust up my nose and everywhere else ...

Im going to fit it up after work tomorrow ... fingers crossed !

@ Janson yeah I've got 4 manifolds here and they were all the like you mentioned the outside diameter of the boot is the same size as the pwk 33 spigot which is 42mm but I've actually bored it out to around 38mm the stock internal size was around 32mm .... at 38mm it only needs slight stretching to fit over as you seen in my pics and it fits nice and tight so no possible air leaks and a clamp fits over there perfectly too . Then on the other side i matched up the manifold to the carb so its flows smooth no offset or step inside it .

I deleted my post about the carb issues with DHZ as this is meant to be my build thread all problems aside so now ill get back on track .....

Waiting on a shorter uni filter

PWK 33 Fitted up nicely :

Nick that just sucks. I can get the whole set up you need from my local shop, whose name I can't mention on here. At least my guys actually race them and have the set up working. Hope you get it sorted Monday

Thats really strange nick as the site states these specs, which is what you needed. Wonder if you got a one off that was out of spec. But the info below does say recommended so maybe all the PWK33 are jetted the same as yours? Not sure dude. That bike is pitbike porn in my books.

Here is the recommended setting information of KEIHIN PWK33 and PE28 carburetor,
for your reference.

Okay cheers Phil if they have no resolution to the mater ill be in touch mate ...... the only thing i really need is the needle i have the rest and have already fitted the right jetting but ... finding the W956R-1175W needle is becoming a joke I've done a search of the internet and rang around most of my local shops earlier today and no one has it at all .. Im willing to pay the cash to get one even thought the carby already cost me $299 *sigh*..

DHZ's actual ad description reads ...

Genuine Keihin PWK33 Carby, Made in Japan, Suit Daytona Anima 4V 150cc, 190cc
Slow Jet #42, Main Jet #125

Then under that is written :

Here is the recommended setting information of KEIHIN PWK33 and PE28 carburetor,

so i dunno how ppl perceive it but the first written ad description leads you to believe its ready to go i guess ??
I dunno either way it freakin sucks I'm still mad.. just my luck! ... I done a search of the part number on the box and its just a generic pwk33 straight from Keihin no Daytona spec special setup at all ... in all honesty if i could just find the damn right needle id go buy one and be done with it really .... i just wanna enjoy the fruits of my labour already LOL

Yeah had the same problem... Why the **** do they sell a carb and cat put the right jets and needle in? I have put in 40 and 125 and it work pretty good. Mine needle is stamped the same, are you sure its not the recomendet? i have no ide what the recomended needle is stamped!? I had a little conversation with daytona but they didnt give me any good answers, also asked why they have a carb that is offseted and dont include a intake boot that works!? they said they told the daytona sellers to make an adapter to make it fit, but obviously they havent. and daytona didnt want to make one cuse its not that many that is buying that carb.. *******s!

have you tried start the bike with the yets?

Yeah its fair bull crap Janson i feel your pain buddy ! my needle is actually a CGL not CFQ dunno where i got that from lol... i haven't started it yet i dunno if i should if the needle isnt right tho hmmmm...

Nick, i think the guys down here are running the same needle as you have, shouldn't be a problem. I've only spoken to one guy who wants to change needle to the Daytona spec one. You will be ok with the needle you have I reckon. Daytona DO have a carb adaptor, I've seen it with my own eyes.

Okay thanks for your help Phil ill give it a go its a CGL needle and i had a bit of a investigation into it on the Keihin website and it seems its actually the standard size needle for a pwk33 which im guessing should be good starting point and if you know 4 sure that its what everyone seems to be using im gonna leave it be then ... ive re-jetted it to the 42/125 with original keihin jets so fingers crossed all is well...

At least ive told DHZ to look onto the matter and maybe now they can throw in the right jetting along with the CGL needle and 6.0 slide thats already in it ...

My custom made adaptor works really well to mate I'm quite pleased with the overall result she fits on nice and snug with decent amount of clearance around the carby :) and the plus side is it cost me nothing too.

Yes I'm very sure that's what the guys are running down South, the original needle. Curious to find out whaqt DHZ say tomorrow though. I agree, the manifold adapter is very nice. I like that it looks like it came that way from factory. So how was it today? You rode it right?

Nah mate not today I'm still waiting on another uni filter to fit up 2 it as the one i got from dhz is huge the neck size was sloppy and its 150mm long instead of 100mm so it just doesn't fit at all ... I ordered a 100mm one straight off the uni website which should arrive this week sometime . I think next sunday a few boys from round my way are heading up to Pacific Park for the day ..

Its all a big trial error process atm unfortunately but its getting there ..
