hi guys my son has an appolo 125 we just replaced the motor with a 125 ducar elec start witch we are not going to hook up, and ran into wireing issues the ducar has has the following colour wiring from stator*
{blue/white stripe -- black/red strip--green--yellow--white} with a white F/M connector plug,, 5 wires in total

the old 125 has the following from stator*
{ blue/white strip -- black/red stripe -- green/red stripe- yellow--white--green} these were just bodgeyed into the wireing harness'' 6 wires in total
now here is where we are running into probs no spark we swapped different wires around still carnt get 1 the old motor had good spark when taken out but the wireing was an absolute mess joined with 240v electrical connectors and short lengthes of different colour wires to get the required length, my son didn't think to make a note of when the took old motor out thinking it will just be a plug and play lol
the cdi is a 5 pin with the following wires
{green/red stripe--blue/red stripe--green/black stripe--pink--purple}

COIL--{black/yellow stripe--green}

kill switch-{red--green}

so any help be most appreciated we have seen the new motor running so know the stator is ok thanks guys

Welcome to Miniriders,

Don't forget to drop in and say hello in our Introduce Yourself thread too while you are here.

All the wires you will need are the Black w/Red stripe to connect to the Black w/Red stripe from the cdi.
the Blue w/White stripe wire from the stator to go to the Blue w/White stripe from the cdi
and the Green from the stator needs to connect to a good earth (a clean bare metal spot) on the frame, and to the Green from the cdi

the Green w/Red stripe wire from the stator is a neutral switch so the electric start doesn't work unless it's in neutral.
for a kick start engine , you can just tape it back to the stator loom.

The Yellow and White wires are for a voltage regulator/rectifier, needed when running a battery and or headlights.
so they can both be insulated seperately and taped back to the loom as well.

make sure the Green wire from the coil is earth goes to a clean bare metal spot onto the frame.
it could also be soldered to the mounts of the coil as well, if this is the case, make sure the coil mount is touching clean bare metal.

Here is a wiring diagram for the cdi too -

have you fitted a new NGK C7HSA spark plug ?

if you have any other problems just ask here

Cheers, Craig
