how would i go about getting my swing arm looking like that.. a very fine wet n dry.. or a wire brush on a drill or maybe some steel wool?

^^^that swinger also takes a drum rear... i just wanted to do something different, and have heaps of rear brake set-ups laying about

peter a heap of polishing will do it... buffer wheel on a bench grinder will do it, but tricky to get to the hard-to-reach places... fine wet and dry, clean it up with autosol...
that swinger also comes that shiny standard.. Therein lies it's appeal in my shed.. shiny is the new black. :D

original hunge ten rear brake shoes?? for a drum rear?
i might... ;)
i may even have a near new set that i no longer need...
DVD rip and i have both found some dude on egay that seems to have a heap of OEM 04 Thumpy parts.. will see if i can find him again, and pm you the link to his store..

discovered anodising paint, got shed boner. :D

figured i'd decided on a paint theme for the engine, so bought some anodising paint... did a few bits on the motor to shine it up, liked it, assembled it, it's now in the frame...
exhaust was a bit long, so that was cut, shut and fitted...
thumpy brakes were refitted, owing to their epic capacity to tip you over the bars...
anyways, heres the pics of todays progress...
oh ps: STILL NO ****ING AXLE... KDF Sport on Egay, are you listening? where's my axle ****ing????

god damn that engine looks good :D

how much were the pitster clamps?

yeah i gotta admit, the motor turned out a hell of a lot better than i expected... Black and red is always a good mix, but i wasnt expecting the colours to "blend" so well... guess it's cause the anodised painted parts are a bit darker than your average fire-engine red bling bits.. :)

those pitster triples and bar kit came in at $160 posted from KDF on egay...
($139 plus postage) I thought they were kinda pricey initially, given you can get billet sets elsewhere for $65, but when you add in the fat bars, and adjustable "PitsterPro" stamped bar clamps and triples, it's a pretty reasonable price to pay... i think they may be a little low on the thumpy, as they have very low, bunched up ergos, but would be brilliant on a bigger framed mini, with a higher positioned headset..

she's come up a treat thump nice work mate :D loving that motor......i might do something with the motor in the Z now lol

the PornoThumpy lives and breathes again... kinda

ok, got a bit more done on the thumpy. because that C**T that was meant to sell me a bike today, changed his mind, and backed out of the deal, i had more shed time...

got a bit excited about the red paint stuff, so stripped the rear caliper, made it sparkly red... gonna do the same to the front caliper tomorrow, and anything else i can get my hands on.. master cylinders perhaps... this stuff is awesome.. ha ha..
finally got my remaining axle, only to find the spacers are all wrong, and i had to raid the camo mini for proper sized spacers... until i can source some more... still a bit sus on the alignment of the 10'' rear in this swinger, but it's in there. (and yes, i'm aware the axle hasnt been adjusted, nor is there a chain on it...)

All of the wiring was wrapped in conduit, and hidden as best you can on a pitty... battery leads were re-routed under the frame to the e-start, only remainder is the key switch, which i foolishly cut off the frame in the hunt for cleaner lines.. oops.. so i have to fab up a mount...
26090-04-thumpy-resto-build28.jpg

i also discovered that OKO flatslides fit under the thumpy tank... Just... anyone who has an 04 thumpy, will know that there is **** all room under the tank for carbies or fingers... so happy day, an oko will fit... the spare 26mm i had, got it running, but it isnt happy.. overkill i'd say... will try rejetting tomorrow, but otherwise, i'll steal the 21mm out of the miniblitz... until the keihin PE24 shows up..
26090-04-thumpy-resto-build29.jpg

i also discovered the reason i stripped the thumpy to begin with... shock is rooted.. i sit my ass on it, it bottoms out.. oops.. and with the extra 4" of swingarm, leverage is greatly increased, so a fastace shock is high on the to do list...

anyways, here's the pics..

man it looks trick only thing i dont like is your bars look to low and odd with out the center support bar but thats me other wise i love it :)

yeah i agree about the bars, i'm still undecided on em.. they are actually a reasonably high bend, but the headstocks on the thumpys are low, they always looked real bunched up around the bar/tank area... and yes, it most definately needs one of those champion "PitBike" cross bar pads...
but cheers, i'm pretty happy with the progress thus far...

Now it's time for bling and tuning... :D

yea I agree, you need to swap bars with the bling40, thumpys need hi-rise bmx style

did you paint the axle sliders? I need to get me some of that paint lol I'm too tight to buy real anodized bling

why white plastics? ruins the red/black theme of the bike IMO

Spare 26mm oko flatty you say?Hmmmmmm.......................

Not sure if its the 10inch rear or not but it has a bit of a hill climb/widow maker look to it with that blingin swinger.
Looks a bit different to when i saw it the other night Tom,you dont waste any time when the mrs is away.
Need another ride now so you can get it all dirty and scratched.

i actually have a set of Red-barons that were originally on the thumpy... i might try them.. only issue is, now i have the pitster triples, i need to swap out either the bar clamps if i can find identically grooved ones with 7/8 holes, or swap triples altogether... both are not major concerns at present, and those bars look deceptively low... they're actually in a great position.. we'll see how it rides, then i'll look into it..
nah, the axle sliders that came with the swinger were red. saved me painting them.. dont think the red would stay on things like sliders anyway... but yeah, going to paint a few more bits red... that **** is awesome and cheaper than paying the postage on cheap bling from china... ha ha..
the bike is still going to have a red and black theme, as the plastics will be pretty much covered with sticker kits... i'm having a set of thumpy replica stickers made, which are black, red, white and silver... front, side and rear number plates and guards will also have numbers, backgrounds and shopping lists added to them, so the white wont be that obvious...

that and the red and black was an afterthought... well, that much black, was an afterthought.. hah a.. plastics and the pimp-coloured seat were already waiting in the wings... but yes, without a graphs kit, i agree, that there is a whole lot of white... :)
