back in post #119, there is a picture of your cdi plugs
there is a 2 pin plug and a 4 pin plug

can you post up a picture showing the colour wire/wiring going into each plug on the cdi unit,
with them all still plugged into the cdi.

I'm not spending random money.. The coil was shot and it's the original spark plug that 2 1/2 years old isn't it worth the $3..? Here's the wiring to cdi

ok, post #29 you said the spark plug was good still, and yoiu mentioned it had spark too.
that means the coil & spark plug was ok and so was the cdi, thats all.

the more you going playing with, the more problems it can make.
example - unplugging a CDI and then plugging in a new one can damage the terminals in the plug/socket
or even break wires in the loom.

so are you getting a spark when you kick the bike over ?

im getting spark. i cant see it but i feel it

spark ect and everything is there.. wiring correct?

sometimes you need to check the spark in the dark. but if you feel it then it should be fine.
wiring into cdi looks good too.

choke on, (lever forward so tit lifts the brass pin up) and kick it over.
maybe post a video of it when you kick it ?

have you tried turning the idle speed screw in a little more, or with the throttle open a touch ?

in your video, the fuel tap on the tank, looks like it's in the off position ?

when the stator had the 2x white wires connected did it sound like it would run then ?
maybe post another video ?
maybe your stator is wired differently than all the others i've seen

do you have a multimeter?
you need a decent spark for it to run, test the 5 wires coming from the stator

set the multimeter to 200 ohms, it should read 1.
(this is showing that there is an open circuit, no power is flowing)
and measure the reading across the blue w/white stripe, and green wires,
1 lead from the multimeter to the blue w/white stripe, 1 to the green.
post up your reading

then do the same test with the multimeter set on 2000 ohms,
1 lead to the black w/red stripe, 1 lead to the green
post up your reading

It's the on posisition and white to white sounded better too me

I have to get a multimeter to get solid readings

if the ignition/stator/flywheel cover is still off the l/h side of the engine.
then grab a torch, see the little black box sitting at the back of the flywheel, look behind the black box, there is a slight gap between it and the alloy plate that holds the stator.
there will be 2 wires, one each side, what colours are they ?

yellow and green, really ?
can you unscrew the 2 screws holding the pickup coil to the side of the flywheel, and take a pic of the yellow and green wires coming off it.

hmm,
i wonder why it is sounding like it will start with the white wire connected to the bikes loom then ?

have you tried connecting the yellow to the white wire at the join?
the one i had you change the white wire to the blue wire

i cant pull off the flywheel to pull those 2 screws.. but heres a picture if it helps..

the black box i am talking about is at the rear of the flywheel, just infront of the sprocket.
i will put up a pic in a minute

see the black box on the right on my pic ?
this is the pickup coil, it tells the CDI when to send power to the ignition coil to fire, and make the spark plug spark.

so you wont need to remove the flywheel to see the colour of the wires going to it, because it sits outside the flywheel.
but you will probably need a torch.

the photo in post #172 is taken from the rear side of the pickup coil (black box), next to the sprocket, to show the colours of the 2 wires going to the pickup.

the reason i need to know what the colours are ,
is because if the wrong wires are connected to your loom,
(where the 5 wires come out at the top of the stator wiring) you wont get a signal to the CDI unit, and the bike wont start.

now i understand exactly what your saying thanks for taking the time to post pictures so we can figure this out, your a good guy craig! lol but the wires are just like yours, one of them is all green and the other is blue with white

ok thanks,

then the wire that connects to the loom at the other end, definately is the blue w/white stripe, connect it to the white wire from your loom.

now, next thing is the new CDI that you have bought.
it looks to be a big unit, is it bigger than the one that it has replaced ?
