lol... was just joking about the shock... probly just a display unit... does look nice tho!!

but as for the linkage, i only have a revmx chassis but i have all the faith in the world with it..

and to date not one mention of any of the bikes having a linkage go bang..
and if there is then no doubt its from dry bearings which can hardly be a design flaw..

and your probly right about only the 4 stroke ktm's having the linkage.. maybe they feel it performs better with the extra weight..

I interpreted what they said as being that since 2 strokes are "nervous" as in unpredictable traction there's no point in running the added weight of a linkage ... They obviously work a lot better with a 4 strokes' more tractable power delivery characteristics ...

I got the impression that the riding conditions/terrain had a bit to do with it on the 4 strokes. They feel that the linkage is better suited for mx and sx track riding and the PDS better for off road riding.

yeah 4 riders came with 9 bikes and only 4 of em were running by the end of the day .

sorry dready but i am going to have to correct you

we had 7 riders and 8 bikes 7 bikes not counting the vegas 200cc
that had big gear box problems before it was put in the van was only ever there
to nick parts off

so out of the 7 bikes there where only 2 that broke down on the day

one had a crack in the head near the spark plug and was pissing out oil
and one destroyed the plastic oil pump gear some how.
The 200cc that timmy was riding ate the kick start gears and not being his
bike timmy made the choice not to ride it as he did not want to break it more

and we killed the ycf with the daytona the next morning

so that would be 7 bikes we still had 5 at the end of the day
and 4 when we left

ok :focus:

Fair enough brooksy, but that's what I was told at the track ... I was also told you were on the spanners all day swappin bits to keep em running ... so ya came with seven and a spare and went home with 4 all good, the main thing is you guys came to race on the mainland and got a taste of the competition but next time bring Braad ...ALOT of people are keen to see how he goes.

I took 1 DHZ. No spare bikes or parts and Still had 1 DHZ going at the end of the day.
Go team BRAAAP

well go you
funny you say that cause from what i remember of the convo
i had with Kc from DHZ at the end of the day they had just as many problems
as us

and well not that i give a rats any more what you guys say about braaap
but all the bikes that had problems where all the VIC bikes
the mechanic THAT WAS THERE got his nickers in a knot left everything
to the last second and rushed everything

thats why the vegas 200cc never got ridden

hey are you down in hobart? i was riding the hobart braap track last thursday and i just wanted to let the braap team know that the up ramp t the last step down is a bit dodgy with ruts all over it. i dont know if you guys know about it or not? just thought ill let you know

no man im a part of the Launceston crew

i will pass the info on but i dont think they have much control over it any more
when your there next if it is still like it let the guys that run the place know
as there the one that are ment to maintain the track as far as i know

those anyone know the spec list on a 150 braap maestro?

Again fair enough Brooksy but for someone who don't care you defend them alot ...WE probably wouldn't be so cynical if one of you had at anytime adressed some of our concerns as Braaad promised to do .... I mean we have only ever asked for proof of claims that our knowledge of bikes suggest to us are B.S ... so until these are addressed as was promised I'm afraid many on here will remain skeptical.

And I think dhz was saying he's one guy with a shed and he can prep a bike for a raceday and have it going at the end of the day ... alot of yours weren't and you guys claim to be the industry leaders .... for example

" This is the reason we are considered the mini motocross specialists, our mechanics are sought after by other companies and their experience on our bike is second to none. We are always testing new products, doing hot ups and making sure we are at the top of our game, heck it's our life! We travel all round Australia to race and support the sport. braaap riders have finished on the podium at every event we've entered so far, Australia Wide, Motard, motocross and supercross! "

Well I won't even start on " We travel all round Australia to race and support the sport. braaap riders have finished on the podium at every event we've entered so far, Australia Wide, Motard, motocross and supercross "

But it makes no difference where the braaap mech was from he's still a Braap mech ...

when you say " all the bikes that had problems where all the VIC bikes
the mechanic THAT WAS THERE got his nickers in a knot left everything
to the last second and rushed everything " .

Well that doesn't sound like a place I'd like to take my bike for a bet... I'm sure you wouldn't either ... so when Braaap says

" our mechanics are sought after by other companies and their experience on our bike is second to none "

It looks to us like bs .... man I'm sure you can understand that mate ...or I hope ya can.

And lastly I'd suggest next time set up in the pits with everyone else, setting up away from everyone will only increase what I percieve to be a distance from the rest of the mainland mini community ....and I reckon Tasmania's geographical position has given you enough of that already .... So yeah next time come down the pits.

As for the braap 150 specs ? ... it's a 150 china but you can see them on the braaap site ?

Have'nt seen a non linkage bike podium for a while that should tell ya something .

Correct me if I'm wrong but didn't a non linkage braaap get top spot on the podium at the recent nationals?

And Tas, get up to the Tas Zoo track, you'll love it!

i get what ya laying down dready and i understand the scepticism to a point
but i myself dont have the info nor is it my place or my goal here to prove the claims true or false.

i can see what dhz was saying but my point is braaap was not the only big brand
to have a lot of problems

and as for the vic shop brad him self will admit he has not had the best of luck with some of the staff that have been there
as for the mechanic he has now moved on he was good at his job
he just had some problems

and its a shame that the vic store has these issues cause i know the crew that
are in the 3 stores down here and there a great bunch of people and know what there doing and i have learnt just as much from them as i have from the forum

Well yeah it did Gaza but it was juniors not pro's ...and it was a field of 3 ..2 were braap and I don't even think the other kid was on a linkage setup so I don't see how that prooves anything ...besides, anyone that was there knows the kid ya had on the daytona was the reason you got the podium not the bike, that kids seriously fast he woulda won on a pushy...and yeah I also know it was his first race on a pitty and he didn't really know Braad ...so I think it's a bit rich claiming him as team braaap but anyway ... but yeah the kids fast so give him a bike don't lend him one.

I also know the kid rides mx at a state level ... so if he was just there to race one race for ya's and not on ya team ?

he's a ringer then ...ie " Any type of contestant in a game who is entered in order to cheat. For example, a professional bowler who plays in an amateur bowling match "

I'm not callin him a cheat that definition is a little harsh in this instance ... he was a mile in front all day and thouroughly deserved to win .... but I think you get my point ... I'm saying if he was recruited to ride one race on a borrowed bike he's really not a teamrider is he ?.

And lastly by your definition of " top spot on the podium at the recent nationals? "

Well then my mate Durant did it too ...on a 3year old x4 he chucked together in his back shed and he did race against a linkage in his field ... but like the juniors his class was decided by rider skill more than bike speed ...in fact the girls class was the same.

Again I don't wanna take anything away from the kid he was on fire ..but with 2 riders in a field of 3 how can ya not podium ?

REALLY? well Timmy was the guy that told me it was he who hooked him up to ride brooksy and that it was his firsty pitty race and he didn't know braaad ...so what's the go there ?

well must of missed the first moto's brooksy cause all I saw was 3 on grid .... are ya sayin ten guys dnf'd in the early rounds or something ?

also Brooksy if your gunns say

" i myself dont have the info nor is it my place or my goal here to prove the claims true or false "?

.... who is then ? Braad ?... that's pretty funny , we know how that goes, he'll just ask me to go down tassie and ride or try n change the subject somehow ....anything but answer the question.

And if ya sayin that then you can't really come on and SELECTIVELY defend braaap everyday without adressing them can ya ? ...I mean that was braaad used to do and the reason we are STILL asking these questions so that's a bit of a cope out if ya ask me ... because I've seen you defend braap on a range of things on here and fb ...from metal testing to this ....so if what you are saying is true it's a recent development because you've defended him on a wide range of subjects before.

Also I noticed you trying to start a convo in chat twice yesterday about braads logo on the vegas track ? ... I mean what's up with that is he sponsoring it ? ...if he is I'd say WAKE UP braad ....if you are all about building the sport here why build tracks in vegas before ya build one here ? ... I mean don't think the scene needs help in vegas do you ?

and by the way posting something with a braaap logo is a no no here he's had all the free advertising he's gunna get here ... so ya might wanna stop posting that here :afro:

No need to over analyse everything people say Dready, I was just making the point that this dude made the podium and I think we'd all agree he would have done if there were 20 bikes on the grid. I met this kid last year at a few Tassy rounds and he is a great representative for team braaap, he even shook my hand at the end of the Launceston round and said what a good job we had done to get the raceday happening at such short notice.

As for the Vegas sponsorship, there's more people behind braaap USA than just Brad.....

I think your a very smart man dread and your knowledge is overwhelming and I think if anyone is going to analyse anything that is said I would hope its you. You make some great points and your definalty getting people on the defensive which is all very healthy for the mini scene. Keep up the good work mate
