rear brake question

I can't get one of the brake pads into the caliper, it uses clips to hold the brake pads in, also my friend told me if you press the brake in without the pad it stuffs up the brake caliper, is this true?

Re: rear brake question

I think that caliper has two bolts mounting it to the bracket, you remove one and loosen the other and you can pivot the caliper on the loose bolt. They can be an extreme pain when that style comes in to work on a bike. Someone else may have some advice as I'm not overly familiar with that style.

take out the clips that hold the pads in, put the pad in and put a flat head screw driver in between. then put the wheel on and line it up. take screwdriver out and its done.

to hold the pads in place.. so they dont fall out.
i dont have them in my lxr and its so much easier
